Primavera

Directed by Damiano Michieletto who is recognized as one of the most visionary and revolutionary Opera directors in Italy and Abroad. He states, “In making Primavera, my first feature film, it immediately became clear to me that my expressive world cannot be separated from music, whose narrative and emotional power has fed into my work.” The film is loosely based on Stabat Mater, the award-winning novel by Italian writer Tiziano Scarpa. It tells the story of Antonio Vivaldi in early 1700 Venice and his student Cecilia, a brilliant young orphan violinist who lives in the Ospedale della Pietà, an institution for abandoned girls run by nuns.
