When four cousins inherit an abandoned house in Normandy, they uncover the story of a mysterious ancestor, Adèle. The film moves between 2024 and 1895, following young Adèle as she leaves for Paris in search of her mother during a time of artistic transformation. As photography begins influencing Impressionist painters, past and present intertwine. Through romance, discovery, and shifting eras, the cousins gain insight into their heritage in this visually rich, award-winning drama.
