About the event
Co-written and Directed by Lebanese Cyril Aris in his debut feature film which is styled as a romantic-comedy drama set in Beirut. The storyline features Nino and Yasmina, childhood sweethearts growing up in Beirut and trying to survive the continuous war waged between Israel and Hezbollah the militant group founded in 1982 by Iran to destroy Israel and opposition to Western influence. As their love story spans 30 years and is re-kindled into adulthood, the war continues as a destructive parallel. Nino is a patriot and loves Lebanon with hope that the war would end soon and their lives return to “normal”. Yasmina loves Nino but sees futility as the war continues. Can their love survive? This film has garnered many awards at over 20 film festivals including Venice Film Festival and rave views by critics and film viewers.
